Apprenticeships


All of our apprentices are enrolled on an advanced apprenticeship which lasts for four years.

Training is provided to enable completion of the NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation.

Training also includes the City & Guilds 2330 Certificate in Electrical Installation Technology and the Key Skills in Application of Number, Communications and Information and Communication Technology, and, finally the industries own practical performance assessment, the AM2 test, which is taken towards the end of the fourth year.


An example of the timescale for delivery of training is shown below.

Year 1

Complete stage one NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook), complete City & Guilds 2330 leading to Level 2 qualification, completion of Key Skills portfolio and external tests.

Year 2

Complete stage 2 NVQ Logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook), complete second year City & Guilds 2330 leading to full Level Three Technical Certificate qualification.

Year 3

Complete stage 3 NVQ logbook (evidence derived from work activities and on site assessment, recorded in NVQ logbook).

Year 4

On site work experience, undertake Practical Performance Assessment (AM2), NVQ level 3 certificates gained.
