St Osburgs Church
St Osburg’s church is situated in Coventry, West Midlands. The church has occupied its present site since 1852. ECA was awarded the contract to design and install a completely new electrical installation. This installation needed to complement the renovation work that was being carried by Midland Conservation Limited, a specialist contractor in historical buildings.
Simon Withington – Small Works & Special Projects Manager at ECA says “ECA are always happy to work with one of our major clients, Midland Conservation Ltd. MCL are establishing an enviable reputation as a traditional building company of the highest standard. As a specialist contractor they have a wealth of experience and a reputation for expertise in the restoration, conservation and repair of historic buildings, ancient monuments and churches. They employ the finest traditional skills and combined this with sound financial control and good management.”
One key feature of the project was to install a scene setting lighting system. This needed to be capable of setting different light levels, to best suit the diverse range of events that are carried out at St Osburg’s, whilst also highlighting the various architectural features within the building. This was achieved by careful planning and design and sympathetic installation methods. The completed scene setting lighting system complements the internal of the building and is a positive additional to making the overall renovation at St Osburg’s a resounding success.
